The Life Story of a Product – Storyboard for Students (6 Pages)

Bring creativity and critical thinking together! In this engaging and student-friendly booklet, learners will personify a common product and write its life story ~ tracing its journey from raw materials to production, usage, and eventual disposal or recycling. At each stage, students are guided with clear, structured prompts to support their thinking and storytelling.

What’s included:

  • A section to choose and brainstorm a meaningful product

  • A life cycle planning table

  • A built-in storyboard for organizing story ideas

  • First draft writing pages

  • Peer feedback section

  • Teacher and self-assessment checklist

Students will explore sustainability while building writing, creativity, and organization skills. Whether they write a story or comic, the end product is both fun and informative.

I completed this project with my Grade 3 students. It took plenty of scaffolding, but the results were impressive and rewarding. They were super excited throughout the whole process and they were so proud of their final work!

Tip: Consider photocopying an extra draft writing booklet and storyboard page. My students had great suggestions for one another, during peer feedback sessions and share out louds along the way, and were eager to revise both their writing and illustrations. Adjust and adapt the materials to best fit your classroom needs. You’ll find what works for you!
